Mr. Hans Jong

Hans is a reporter with the Jakarta Post where he covers mostly stories around politics and law, such as the 2014 elections in Indonesia. He has also covered business, crime, environment and other topics for the Post.

Prior to his current position, Hans was a transcriber with Vision Plus Media, producing video-based promotional campaigns in emerging countries, and also worked as an associate editor for Kesaint Blanc Publishing.

Hans’ project is focused on bureaucratic and public service reform. He plans to publish a series of in-depth articles about the US government’s civil service systsem and how Indonesia can learn from its best practices. These articles would be published by the Ministry of Bureaucratic Reform, as well as the State Apparatus Ministry every four months, and widely circulated to government institutions. His goal is for the articles to have a positive impact on civil servants.
